The Whonix-Installer is the easiest way to install Whonix on a Windows system. It requires little to no input on your part and even comes with a simple interface to start and stop the Gateway and Workstation.



1.) Download the Installer

2.) Verify the Installer

It is important to check the integrity of the installer file you downloaded to make sure no man-in-the-middle attack or file corruption happened. (See Download Security.)

The Whonix-Installer has been cryptographically signed using OpenPGP[1] by the creator of the Whonix-Installer Ego.

If you know how to use an OpenPGP key, download the signing key and the Signature straight away.

Otherwise, follow the instructions:


3.) Install Whonix

Execute the verified Whonix-Installer.exe and follow the instructions. Please be careful to read the instructions in their entirety and make sure you understand everything.


4.) Start using Whonix

You may now enjoy Whonix and all its features, either via Whonix.exe or Whonix for Windows, which you should find on your desktop or VirtualBox. Please note that .net Framework is required to use Whonix.exe.
